The Journal of Heresy Studies is affiliated with the International Society for Heresy Studies. It is the only interdisciplinary blind peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated specifically to academic publications on the complex, multifaceted, and important phenomena of heresy, blasphemy, and unbelief. We are committed to the publication of scholarship across the disciplines of literature, art history, philosophy, theology, religious studies, history, cultural studies, sociology, psychology and other related fields that investigate the prominent role religious heterodoxies have played in both religious communities and the wider culture. Since heresies have traditionally not received enough attention in the academic community, the Journal of Heresy Studies aims to become the leading periodical for conversations across varied fields of inquiry regarding the roles that heresy, blasphemy, and unbelief have played in human artistic expression and in the history of ideas.
